Specs, timelines and costs are clear from day one.
Finance & delivery made easy
We keep pricing predictable with a simple structure: a 40% deposit and the balance on delivery. Our team coordinates transport and crane hire so installation day runs smoothly, and we provide full written quotes to help with loan applications (finance is subject to your lender’s approval).
Container homes vs tiny homes
Traditional builds often mean long timelines and budget blowouts. Container homes offer faster setup, clear pricing and flexible layouts. Tiny homes suit ultra-compact living; if you need more floor space, container homes give you larger layouts and more long-term flexibility. Compare our tiny home prices and expandable homes NZ to find the right fit.
Off-grid container homes in NZ
Many customers go off-grid with our container houses. A solar and battery package provides power sized to your appliances, daily usage, site conditions and backup requirements, while optional water tanks and efficient insulation make self-sufficient living practical. See our off-grid homes NZ page for details.
Frequently asked questions
How much do container homes cost in NZ?
As a guide: 20ft from $38,500, 30ft from $51,000, and 40ft from $64,000 incl. GST. Final pricing depends on size, bedroom layout, finishes and upgrades.
How many bedrooms can a container home have?
From 1 bedroom in a 20ft up to 3–4 bedrooms in a 40ft. We’ll match your preferred layout to the right size and quote it.
Do I need building consent?
It depends on the home’s size, design and your council. Under the 2026 rules, a standalone dwelling of 70 m² or less may not need a building consent if the conditions are met — but the Building Code still applies and you must notify your council and obtain a PIM, working with a Licensed Building Practitioner where required. A 40ft is approximately 72 m², over the 70 m² threshold, so consent is generally required.
How long does delivery take?
Lead time is confirmed in your quote, once your specification is locked in and your deposit is received.
Can I customise the layout and colours?
Yes — choose bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom finishes, exterior colours, decking and solar. We provide drawings and an itemised quote.
Do you help with transport and site setup?
Yes — we coordinate transport and crane hire, and advise on site preparation.
